National VTE Exemplar Centres Welcome 36th Member

The VTE Exemplar Centres Panel were thrilled to award Stockport NHS Foundation Trust VTE Exemplar Centres status last week.  The thrombosis team from Stockport demonstrated consistently high rates of VTE risk assessment, appropriate thromboprophylaxis and a strategic, multi-disciplinary approach to VTE prevention.  They have a longstanding commitment to prevention of patient harm from VTE and have had a VTE prevention nurse specialist in post at the Trust since 2009.  They demonstrated a culture of continuous improvement around VTE prevention and VTE diagnosis and management.

Huge congratulations to the whole team and a very warm welcome to the Network.
